Mushroom with Daevid Allen:
Under the name of the University Of Errors,
various members of Mushroom have recorded 2 CDs
with Daevid Allen of Gong, they have also toured and performed
with Daevid several times, usually playing Daevid, Gong, and U of E material,
but twice Daevid has played shows with Mushroom, only playing their songs and not his.
On May 24th 1998, Mushroom played a show with Kevin Ayers (ex-Soft Machine)
at the Great American Music Hall. Mushroom played about 45 minutes
of their own material and then all of them joined Kevin Ayers for a 90 minute
set of his classics.
Some jack ass in Japan saw fit to release the Kevin Ayers set as 2 CD Bootleg titled
Kevin Ayers with Mushroom: Waterfalls Of Dreams.
Normally, bootlegs would not piss us off, except for these reasons:
1) the guy never sent us any free copies
2) it's a CD-R and he's charging somewhere between $60 and $100 dollars for it.
Bootleg CDs we did release:
In this age of CD-Rs, anyone can release anything at anytime, making discographies
almost useless. Here is one CD-R that we did 20 copies of, made special cover art for
and numbered them 1 to 20.
They were sold during our November 1999 European tour to keep gas in the van
and food on the table.
